HELLO, GOODBYE

Beatlesfest x Hello, Goodbye

Project :: Participating artist in the ‘Hello, Goodbye’ exhibition at Union Theatre Gallery - Curated by Le Grizz. As part of Beatlesfest 2024 and 2025.

For this piece I decided to appropriate Bob Gruen’s infamous photo; John Lennon, NYC, 1974, whilst giving a nod to the iconic Disney t-shirt (Lennon wore). I felt it might be a fitting metaphor to change Mickey to Max (the Blue Meanie) as a both a criticism and a homage. I also wanted to reference the work of Heinz Edelmann (Art Director, Yellow submarine, 1968) as it was a favourite film of mine growing up, but also because of its enduring and timeless message of peace and love.
